#StrictlyLiveBlogging Week 8: Seventh Live Show Results

Welcome back to the second part of this weekend’s #StrictlyLiveBlogging, our live blog bringing you all the action from the hit BBC show Strictly Come Dancing every weekend. 24 hours have passed since the most recent live show and another two couples are about to face the dance off again.

We’ll get going with a warm up looking back at last night’s action and a look ahead to tonight’s dance off at 6:30pm, along with some flashbacks to Week 7 dances on Strictly years past. Then we go live with the main results show on BBC One at 7:15pm.

Make sure as always you swipe down or press F5 to refresh to get all the dance off news as it breaks, and don’t forget to leave your comments below or Tweet us using the hashtag #StrictlyLiveBlogging. Hope you can join us!

6:35pm

Sorry for the late start guys! So last night, the ten remaining couples danced again on the seventh live show. And Debbie and Giovanni came top of the leaderboard for the second week running as they scored a perfect 40 for their Tango.

Just behind them on 39 points for their Cha Cha Cha were Alexandra and Gorka, with Joe and Katya completing the top 3 on 36 points for their Charleston. But it was a bad night for Aston and Janette – their Viennese waltz was poorly (and I argue) unfairly recieved by the judges and saw them second from bottom with 25 points, saved only from very bottom by Ruth and Anton’s Paso Doble on 22 points.

6:45pm

Tonight, the two lowest scoring couples will dance again in the dance off, and ten couples will become nine as another set of Strictly dreams comes to an end.

The professional dancers open the show tonight with a group dance in tribute to the late great pop legend Prince, plus Welsh indie rock legends Stereophonics perform their latest single live in the studio.

6:50pm

The reaction to last night’s show on social media was one of the best all series – Ruth and Anton’s grand finish being a key talking point amongst Martine McCutcheon, Miranda Hart and former Strictly star of 2014 Judy Murray!

6:55pm

20 minutes to go! Before tonight’s show let’s flashback to Week 7 dances from Strictly series past. First up, we head back to this time last year to Louise Redknapp and Kevin Clifton’s Argentine Tango…

7:00pm

15 minutes to go! Our next Week 7 flashback is from the 2009 series, with Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe’s magical Quickstep…

7:05pm

10 minutes to go! Our final Week 7 flashback is from 2015, with Peter Andre and Janette Manrara’s Charleston:

7:15pm

Here we go…!

7:20pm

We did love that Prince tribute group dance from the professional dancers there! The ‘Purple Rain’ section in particular was inspired!

7:24pm

So…dance off predictions…who do we think is in trouble? I reckon after last night Jonnie and Oti and Ruth and Anton…let me know what you think in the comments below!

7:28pm

Time now to find out the first set of couples are safely through to next week’s live show – here they come…

  • Alexandra and Gorka!
  • Jonnie and Oti!
  • Debbie and Giovanni!
  • Susan and Kevin!

And the first couple in tonight’s dance off are…Aston and Janette?! What?! I’m actually shocked!

    7:34pm

Time now for a live performance from Welsh chart toppers the Stereophonics, with their new single ‘Caught by the Wind’ by ‘Scream Above the Sound’. For me they have songs that fall into two piles – songs that are ‘Dakota’ and songs that aren’t. This is in the former pile for sure!

Beautiful routine from Chloe and Neil to this as well!

    7:37pm

We’re still in shock a bit. Aston and Janette. In the dance off? This isn’t possible?

    7:40pm

I still think Craig overreacted to Debbie and Giovanni’s Tango completely I think. It was OK but didn’t warrant four 10s!

    7:43pm

Time now to find out the next lot of couples through to next week – here we go:

    • Joe and Katya!
    • Ruth and Anton!
    • Davood and Nadiya!
    • Gemma and Aljaz!

Which means Mollie and AJ are in the dance off. Again?!

      7:46pm

I’m sorry but what has gone on? Why are two of the best in the competition with two of last night’s best dances in the dance off?

      7:48pm

It’s time for the dance off that is probably the most shocking I’ve seen in all my years of Strictly watching…Mollie and AJ are up first to dance again.

      7:50pm

Just as beautiful as it was last night. Again. Why are they in the dance off again?

      7:51pm

Time for Aston and Janette to dance again. Again, there was nothing wrong with this last night. I can’t believe I’m seeing this. I’d love to see where this so-called bounce was cause I’m not seeing it!

      7:54pm

The judges are now voting who to save. I almost can’t watch this but here goes…

      • Craig is voting to save Mollie and AJ…
      • Darcey is voting to save Aston and Janette…
      • Bruno is voting to save Aston and Janette – making a tie…
      • Shirley with the casting vote is saving Mollie and AJ…

Which means…I can’t believe I’m typing this…Aston and Janette are out. I’m in shock! 😞😞😞

          8pm
