A poem for this Christmas

Hello all,

So today is my last full day of the year before the festive break. As always, I wanted to share a little something I’d written before I disappeared off to have some much needed down time.

Lately I’ve not really been in the best frame of mind, and it occurred to me that many others might be feeling the same. I wanted to write a Christmas poem that I felt encapsulated that feeling at this time of year, as long as we are doing what feels best for us, then it doesn’t matter. Traditions come and go, but there’s only one of us in this lifetime.

From my pen, heart and home to yours, I wish you a peaceful, safe and joyful Christmas – whatever that looks like – and I’ll touch base with you all in January.

Much love always,

Alex ☺️🎅☃️🎄🎁✨❄️💙 x

It’s OK If Christmas by Alex MacGregor

It’s OK if Christmas starts on 1st November
It’s OK if Christmas starts on 1st December

It’s OK if Christmas is surrounded by family
It’s OK if Christmas is just you, or with some other company

It’s OK if Christmas is writing a list to Santa
It’s OK if Christmas is wishing for what matters

It’s OK if Christmas is turkey, the trimmings and a glass to toast
It’s OK if Christmas is a Higgidy pie or nut roast

It’s OK if Christmas is Bublé and the Pogues
It’s OK if Christmas isn’t the classics everyone knows

It’s OK if Christmas is one big social function
It’s OK if Christmas is for quiet restful reflection

It’s OK if Christmas is a joyful season
It’s OK if Christmas is a struggle for any reason

It’s OK if Christmas is hard without those we’ve lost
It’s OK if Christmas is with those you love the most

It’s OK if Christmas is when you can go all out
It’s OK if Christmas you get by with what’s about

It’s OK if Christmas – it really is OK
To do what feels best. Your way.
