So. It may have not escaped your notice that I’m doing Christmas a bit differently on the blog this year. Where before I usually did my Christmas Song a Day Advent Calendar, this year I’ve decided to do something a bit more low maintenance.
Along the same lines as my #15Daysof30Lists I did in the run up to my 30th birthday in the summer, I have decided, between now and Christmas Eve, to do #12ListsofChristmas. Quite simply, this will be twelve days of twelve of my favourite Christmas related things at 5pm, from music to food to films to everything in between. Consider it twelve blog shaped gifts for the price of one from me, Alex Claus.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on my choices too, so make sure you leave your comments below or Tweet me using the hashtag #12ListsofChristmas. So we’ll start with Day 1, and our first of three music related lists (complete with a Spotify playlist from yours truly)…
- The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl – ‘Fairytale of New York’
- Bing Crosby – ‘White Christmas’
- John Lennon & Yoko Ono – ‘Happy Xmas (War is Over)’
- Paul McCartney – ‘Wonderful Christmastime’
- Jona Lewie – ‘Stop the Cavalry’
- Spice Girls – ‘Christmas Wrapping’
- Michael Bublé – ‘It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas’
- Chris Rea – ‘Driving Home for Christmas’
- The Pretenders – ‘2000 Miles’
- Kylie Minogue – ‘Every Day’s Like Christmas’
- Dean Martin – ‘Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!’
- Doris Day – ‘Winter Wonderland’
