BRINGING SMILES THROUGH BOTTLES
Our first story this week takes across the Atlantic to New York. CBS News have featured the story of 9 year old girl Abigail Moen, who has taken her interest in collecting bottles to reduce the plastic in our water to turn into vital funds for Operation Smile, the organisation providing surgery to those young people with a cleft palate. Read more about her amazing work here.
SUBSCRIBING TO MORE TREES
On The Guardian this week, a group of YouTube vloggers headed up by US based Jimmy Donaldson (better known as MrBeast) have teamed up to start a crowdfunding venture called #TeamTrees to plant 20m trees – which has now raised an incredible amount of money. Find out how well they’ve done here.
A WAFFLY GOOD GESTURE
Lastly this week, to the Today website, and the story of how an employee at an Alabama branch of the Waffle House restaurant who was overwhelmed and alone on his shift was helped out by the customers he was serving. More on this story of remarkable kindness here.
