The Good News Week (30/10/2019)

It’s Wednesday, and time once again, as always, to take a midweek breather, detach from the stresses and strains of everyday life for some more uplifting headline makers in the news. This is The Good News Week.

If you enjoy the stories we’ve found this week, let us know – remember this is a place for you to share any good news you find too, be it local or national – and from wherever in the world you are!

So if you find something positive in the news this coming week that you think we should feature next Wednesday then you can leave your comments below or Tweet us with the hashtag #GoodNewsWeek!

First up this week from BBC News – ever heard of the Juliet Club? It’s an international love letter service located at the famous site of Juliet’s tower from the popular Shakespeare play in Verona, Italy. And one former Juliet letter writer has told his story of how he has become a volunteer for the club. Read his remarkable story here.

Some great news on The Positive News Network next. The Dutch city of Utrecht have now transformed their 316 bus stops to provide some green roof space to allow the bee population to prosper. Find out more about this amazing work here.

When it’s a green cab, of course. Finally this week we head over to The Guardian, as a converted Nissan van called the Dynamo has just been launched, making it London’s first 100% green energy black cab in the capital for 120 years. Find out more about the plans for expansion on this fleet here.
