SO ALEX, WHY IS THIS YOUR SONG OF THE WEEK?

We last had JP Cooper as our #SongoftheWeek over 18 months ago, when ‘She’s On My Mind’ came out. But the bedreadlocked singer songwriter is now back with the first taste of the long awaited follow up to his 2017 debut ‘Raised Under Grey Skies’.

‘Sing It With Me’ is a driving, piano driven midtempo stomper with an especially catchy ‘do do do, do do do’ refrain, and is a collaboration with Norwegian starlet Astrid S, who offers a nice sweet contrast to his more gravelly, soulful tones.

Already all over the radio playlists, this single certainly goes some distance to suggest that JP’s forthcoming second album will not be his last with such simple but beautifully crafted hits in waiting like these.
