Originally recorded by Chuck Berry in 1958, ‘Run Run Rudolph’ takes a strong set of lungs to sing this rocking and rolling festive number. Quite appropriate then, that the original American Idol victor Kelly Clarkson took it on for her Christmas album ‘Wrapped In Red’ back in 2013.

She gives a performance here to rival Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin for gravelly, feisty soul and rock’n’roll and sounds as if she’s having an absolute hoot into the bargain too. If you’re looking for some more recent additions to the Christmas canon at your party playlists, then this deserves to be one of them.
