Even if it was inevitable from the minute the still brilliant ‘Sweet About Me’ recieved saturation airplay over the whole of 2008, it’s still a shame that Aussie songstress Gabriella Cilmi, for all her Xenomania produced soul pop stompers, came to be known by two songs alone. The aforementioned debut, and also this.
Originally a festive hit for Connie Francis in 1962, Gabriella bought it bang up to date for use in the Co-Op’s Christmas adverts ten years ago. A twinkly and zinging little number, it’s certainly one of the more timeless Christmas songs, regardless of who performs it.
