Christmas Song Advent Calendar 2018: Day 10

Now here’s a fact for you. Bob Stanley from Saint Etienne was actually born on 25th December. (He also happens to be a self confessed NOW compilation enthusiast, but that’s for another time.) So it seems appropriate that he, Pete Wiggs and Sarah Cracknell should’ve released a song called ‘I Was Born On Christmas Day’ back in 1993.

This sleigh bell clad offering of 90s indie disco saw Sarah duetting with Tim Burgess, frontman with early Britpoppers The Charlatans for their ‘Xmas ’93’ EP. It remained a single only favourite until ten years ago, when it was added to the tracklist of their best of album, ‘London Conversations’. Best enjoyed with a Babycham on ice and a dance around your tree.
