It’s amazing what happens in the space of a few years. When we wrote about Wham’s evergreen festive classic ‘Last Christmas’ back in 2015, it was in a playlist of what we believed to be the best five contemporary takes on the song. Since that time, one half of them sadly passed away two years ago.
One of those covers we picked was by sometime 90s teenage popstar turned assistant to the Time Lord, Billie Piper. And I seem to recall us going on about her performing it on long running children’s TV show Blue Peter at the height of her pop days in 1998, whilst wearing a big white furry parka to rival East 17. Well, some total legend finally got said performance on YouTube, hence why it’s today’s song. Capiche?
