Time once again for us to bring you our look at what’s good on the on demand telly services this week, with our new series every Thursday, #CatchupRoundup. Some corkers await as always, so let’s see what’s flicking our switches on…
- BEFORE THEY WERE STARS (My5)
Recognise any of the faces you see above? Channel 5 have given you another chance to see this show from 2015, hosted by the late Dale Winton, with all those embarrassing/funny clips of well known stars before fame and fortune came calling. Expect to also see the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Leonardo DiCaprio in this three part series.
- MADE IN BRITAIN (ITV Hub)
Narrated by Jimmy Nail (yes, that one), this fascinating new six part series currently screening on ITV4 goes behind the scenes to find out how some of the nation’s favourites are made, including everything from fishing rods to cricket bats, and the history of their manufacturers to boot.
- GREAT CANAL JOURNEYS (All4)
Best known as Sybil in Fawlty Towers (‘BASIIILLL!’), Prunella Scales and her husband, Shakespearean actor Timothy West, return for a ninth series going along some of the world’s most famous canal routes. This series has already taken in the Nile in Egypt, and the natural home of canals, Venice – a fascinating and heart warming watch.
- SOUNDS OF THE 80S (BBC iPlayer)
Radio 2 DJ and former Top of the Pops host Gary Davies presents this new series for iPlayer – a TV version of his retro airwave bound show of the same name – and invites on a special guest each week to discuss their memories of the decade that gave us legwarmers and shoulder pads. His guest this week is Caroline Flack, who recalls her memories of a childhood fascination with Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue…
