SO ALEX, WHY IS THIS YOUR SONG OF THE WEEK?

It’s unbelievable to think it, but 25 years have passed since UK soul singer and pop legend Gabrielle made her debut with ‘Dreams’, her first UK number one. Even more unbelievable to think then, that it’s been 10 years since her last studio album, 2007’s ‘Always’ was released.

Admittedly, there was a new greatest hits package during that time in 2013 as well, but now she’s back with her first new material proper, and it’s as if she’s never been away. Classically produced, but very fresh sounding, ‘Show Me’ is a captivating reminder of her talent and ability to vocally capture emotion on song. A welcome return indeed.
