It’s time to welcome back an old friend to the blog after the festive break as #SongoftheWeek returns for 2018! And we’ve got a corker for our very first one this year…

SO ALEX, WHY IS THIS YOUR SONG OF THE WEEK?
OK, so this song came out just a week too late (beginning of December) to be our final #SongoftheWeek last year. Fortunately though, it’s stuck around and grown in popularity over the last month – and is set to be the first of many big hits for comeback king Craig David this year, as he gears up for the release of his eighth studio album ‘The Time Is Now’ on 26th January.
The album’s second single ‘I Know You’, the follow up to last September’s ‘Heartline’ (also a former #SongoftheWeek) is a haunting but wonderful collaboration with British indie band Bastille. It’s surprising how well Craig and Bastille’s lead singer Dan Smith work together on vocals here. Could we potentially hear more stuff from them together in the future? I’d say they’d be foolish not to based on this.
